Take care your baby with Virgin Coconut Oil

Unlike adults, care for babies usually requires more attention. Because the baby is still very sensitive and soft so you should be careful in choosing the right care products. Even some products made specifically for infants are still there who use chemicals that can cause irritation or allergies . Coconut oil is one of the baby care alternatives you can try because there are many benefits of coconut oil for your baby.

The types of coconut oil are good for babies
Coconut oil can be used for many things, ranging from cooking, beauty treatments, or for consumption. Here are three types of coconut oil that is safe to use as a substitute for outside medicine for your baby.

Pure coconut oil
This oil is extracted from coconut meat dried in the sun. The trick is to grind and crush the dry coconut meat until the oil comes out. Pure coconut oil does not contain any additional chemicals.
Virgin coconut oil (VCO)
Virgin coconut oil is believed to have a higher quality than pure coconut oil. The difference lies in the extraction process. VCO is taken from coconut milk so it does not experience the drying process and is not heated in the sun. Then the scent of VCO is more fresh than pure coconut oil. In addition, the antioxidants contained in the VCO is also richer because it does not go through heating.

Organic Coconut Oil
Organic coconut oil is virgin coconut oil or virgin coconut oil (VCO) extracted from an organically grown coconut tree. This means that in its care and growth, the coconut tree is not contaminated with any chemicals such as chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
Various uses of coconut oil for babies
Coconut efficacy has been proven by people around the world and has passed down from generation to generation to the next generation. Apparently, coconut oil is also safe and beneficial to the baby. Not only adults can enjoy the use of coconut oil.
  1. Treating diaper rash. Almost all babies have experienced rashes due to the use of diapers . To treat the rash and prevent it coming back, apply coconut oil on your baby's diaper rash after a shower and massage gently. Coconut oil has moisturizing properties so that the rash will heal faster while its antibacterial content can prevent rash coming back.
  2. Overcoming canker sores. Your baby may experience canker sores due to the process of breastfeeding (breast milk). To overcome them with coconut oil, apply thinly to the nipples of breastfeeding mothers when breastfeeding. You can also bottle a little coconut oil in the baby's mouth to speed healing because coconut oil has an antifungal function that can fight canker sores.
  3. Eliminate acne in infants. Because her skin is still very sensitive, your baby is vulnerable to acne . You can certainly see the reddish spots on the skin. Sometimes, these acne spots appear inflamed and feel a little itchy so your baby will feel uncomfortable. If left untreated, acne in your baby is at risk of infection. So, use coconut oil to remove acne on baby by pouring a little coconut oil on the palm of your hand. Rub on hand until it feels warm and apply on the skin of a pimply baby. Let stand for several hours and rinse clean with warm water.
  4. Treating insect bites. The baby's skin is bitten by an insect will be more quickly reddened, inflamed, and swollen than the skin of an adult. Your baby can also be fussy if the bite feels hot or itchy. Therefore, immediately overcome with coconut oil. Apply on insect bites and let stand for a few moments or until the skin looks healed as usual. Coconut oil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can treat insect bites.
  5. Protects skin from irritation. Your baby does not need a moisturizer yet. But weather, sunburn, or room temperature can sometimes make your baby's skin dry. If left unchecked, dry skin will become irritated. Coconut oil can be a safe choice to protect your baby's skin from irritation by rubbing it on baby's skin after you rub it in your palm until it feels warm.  
  6. Relieves pain when the teeth will grow.  When the baby is 4 to 6 months old, his teeth will begin to grow. Usually a baby tooth that will grow will cause various symptoms such as painful and itchy gums. This can make your baby cranky and cranky. So, immediately overcome with coconut oil is smeared gently on baby's gums.
  7. Relieves colds.  Coconut oil mixed with essential oils such as eucalyptus or peppermint has been used for many decades as a balm to relieve nasal congestion due to colds. Then your baby will feel more comfortable with a mixture of coconut oil and essential oils applied to your baby's chest and let stand all night.
  8. Treating seborrheic dermatitis (cradle cap). Your baby's scalp is also still sensitive, so infants often experience seborrhoeic dermatitis  or cradle cap. The disease is caused by fungi that in adults usually appear in the form of dandruff. Because coconut oil is an antifungal agent, coconut oil can treat seborrheic dermatitis in infants safely.
  9. Stimulate hair growth.  If your baby has hair growth problems or hair is very thin compared to his age, you can try using coconut oil. Vitamin E and K rich in coconut oil will stimulate the roots of hair to become stronger and faster to grow. Dampen your baby's hair with warm water and pour coconut oil on your baby's scalp sufficiently. After that, massage gently and let stand for half an hour. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
